Con-Libs Sink HMS Ark Royal As Military Cuts Bite Hard [UPDATED]

The HMS Ark Royal, which was built on the banks of the River Tyne will be decommissioned as a part of the government's extensive defence cuts.

The aircraft carrier was built in Wallsend in the late '70s and its retirement leaves Britain in a precarious state without any aircraft carriers capable of flying jets.

Ark Royal's fleet of Harrier jets are also facing the axe along with vast numbers of tanks and aircraft from the British Army and Royal Air Force.

Possibly the most devastating cut for people to get to grips with are the cuts in military personnel which include 5000 serving members of the Navy, 5000 from the RAF and 7000 from the Army.

This will come as agonising news to those waiting to start their training for the Armed Forces as many of the waiting times will now be as high as 42 months for some trades including 30 months for a Royal Navy Air Engineering Technician.

This, as well as many other things such as refusal to consult citizens regarding the EU can only be seen as more evidence that the Conservative Party has abandoned all it's core principals.

UPDATE: It has been revealed that the defence budget will be cut by around £3.5 Billion and Foreign Aid will increase by £4 Billion to £13.1 billion.
