Stop 'Burka Grove' campaign well underway

Newcastle BNP have hit the streets this weekend, raising awareness of the plans for Benwell Towers and accumulating a lot of public support along the way.

A stall was held in Benwell, with lots of people stopping to sign the petition against Benwell Towers' transformation into an Islamic school which was reported here.

One lady even offered to take a handful of sheets before promising to send them back to the branch after her family and friends had signed it.

Teams of leaflet distributors were also out in force to make sure that the message reached as many people as possible, as only the BNP will actually let people know what is in store for their area.

Doug Graham, the BNP's prospective candidate for the Benwell & Scotswood ward told the Newcastle Patriot, "I oppose this plan for the Mitre.

"We need representation on the council to challenge political correctness and schemes that only benefit a minority."
