Activists Blitz Pendower As PO Box Brims With Returned Petitions

Newcastle BNP activists have swept over Pendower, where Benwell Towers is situated, delivering leaflets and petition forms to houses in the area and beyond.

The online petition has proven to be a huge success, with nearly all of the submissions available using the free software used up.

Speaking to the Patriot earlier on, Newcastle organiser and Newcastle Central candidate in the last General election, Ken Booth said, "The hundreds of signatures collected at the stall, the PO box full of petitions, the huge response our online campaign has had as well as the petitions I anticipate will be waiting for me at the Post Office in the coming days indicate that the people of the West end have spoken.

"Soon it will be up to the council to tell the people whether they regard what they want for their area as a guideline for policy, or an obstacle to overcome."

The campaign to stop 'Burka Grove' is an ongoing campaign and anybody willing to help out, even if it is only for an hour or two should call Ken on 07954434173.

Newcastle BNP Collect Hundreds Of Signatures Against Islamic School

Newcastle BNP held another stall in Benwell, west Newcastle today and gathered well over a hundred more signatures for their "Say No to Burka Grove" campaign, which has been running since Saturday.

Some activists collected signatures from passers-by while others were out delivering leaflets with petition forms to local houses.

"The response today has been excellent," said Dorothy Brooke, who was the BNP's candidate for Tynemouth in this year's general election. "Lots of people knew about the campaign already, even though it's only a few days old, and many of them asked for petition forms to take back home for family members."

Several hundred leaflets were given out on the day, but there are thousands more to be distributed to the local area. Leafleting is ongoing, and anyone interested in helping out should call Newcastle organiser Ken Booth on 07954 434173.

The petition can also be signed at http://newcastlebnp.blogspot.com/p/stop-burka-grove-petition.html

Further to the article above, former North East Regional Organiser Ken Booth has also told the Newcastle Patriot, "I'm pleased about the way the campaign is going and really pleased to see people turning out who support the party 100%, despite wanting Nick Griffin to stand down as chairman."

Stop 'Burka Grove' campaign well underway

Newcastle BNP have hit the streets this weekend, raising awareness of the plans for Benwell Towers and accumulating a lot of public support along the way.

A stall was held in Benwell, with lots of people stopping to sign the petition against Benwell Towers' transformation into an Islamic school which was reported here.

One lady even offered to take a handful of sheets before promising to send them back to the branch after her family and friends had signed it.

Teams of leaflet distributors were also out in force to make sure that the message reached as many people as possible, as only the BNP will actually let people know what is in store for their area.

Doug Graham, the BNP's prospective candidate for the Benwell & Scotswood ward told the Newcastle Patriot, "I oppose this plan for the Mitre.

"We need representation on the council to challenge political correctness and schemes that only benefit a minority."

Double Standards Over Political Violence Exposed

Yunus Bakhsh - spokesman for violent SWP
Northumbria Police in Newcastle have issued an appeal to help them identify ten individuals caught on CCTV as they attempted to gain entry to a meeting of the Socialist Workers' Party (SWP) at a city centre social club.

Det Sgt Rob Ridley said: " We're trying to establish exactly what happened and who was involved in this incident."

Apparently, between twenty and thirty men tried to gain entry to the meeting but when they were stopped by club stewards disorder broke out inside the club.

Six men have already been bailed and arrested in connection with the incident.

Self-styled 'revolutionary' and Wolfie Smith lookalike, Yunus Bakhsh, who wasn't at the meeting, but is the SWP's full-time organiser in the North East, told the local newspaper: "The police have been great. These individuals who decided that this was a good idea need to be found."

He added: "We were just trying to have a meeting. Our meetings are about debating and discussing ideas."

The SWP is a trotskyite communist organisation that believes there is "no parliamentary road to socialism" and thinks that violent revolution is the answer to society's various ills. It also believes that political opponents should be banned and stopped from organising meetings and activities and has actively disrupted and attacked many such events in the past.

Bizarrely, Bakhsh also said: "We want to change the world. But not by beating people up and assaulting them."

Members of the SWP were recently involved in the violent disturbances at a student rally and demonstration in London where police were attacked and windows smashed outside the Conservative Party HQ in the capital. Ironically, Conservative Party leader and coalition Prime Minister, David Cameron, supports the Unite Against Fascism (UAF) group which is controlled by the SWP and holds violent protests against political opponents such as the English Defence League and British National Party.

The Northumbria Police Authority also funds an extremist far-left group, the Tyne & Wear Anti-Fascist Association (TWAFA), which works closely with Yunus Bakhsh and the SWP/UAF on Tyneside. TWAFA is run by Unison shop steward Paul Gibson from the Unison offices inside Newcastle Civic Centre. Until recently, Yunus Bakhsh was a Unison shop steward but was expelled after a power struggle within the union which also cost him his job at a local hospital. TWAFA monitors political dissidents in the North East of England using public money from the Northumbria Police Authority and local councils in Tyne & Wear. It also works closely with the sinister Searchlight organisation which is closely linked to the Labour Party and various trade unions. Searchlight is organised by former members of the Communist Party and 'neo nazi' groups such as the League of St George.

Civil Liberty is opposed to political violence and terrorism in all its forms.

However, do those who shout loudest for it against political opponents and who advocate violent revolution deserve our sympathy and support when it is visited upon them?

Newcastle BNP To Oppose 'Burqa Grove'

The campaign to stop Benwell Towers (the set for Byker Grove, former night club, pub and originally the Bishop’s Palace) being turned into an Islamic school, is being launched this week.

After the property was purchased by BHAR, a Muslim community group, people were unsure what it's future would be, however the knock-down price it fetched, raised some eye brows.

They will be seeking planning permission in the near future for the change of use.

Labour Councillor Dipu Ahad claimed, "The Asian community in the West End of Newcastle are short of facilities and this is much needed."

This comment comes only a few short years after the council withdrew £17,500 of funding from the West End Boy's club and reallocated £15,000 to fund a mosque feasibility study.

Ken Booth said, “the BNP will be opposing the planning application for this project as it is divisive and will not benefit the whole community.

"This will also raise questions about the future tenants and owners of the new houses being built in Scotswood and we will be using it as one of our main campaigning issues in coming local elections next May.

"It is situated in the Benwell and Scotswood ward, which the BNP have contested several times, and is in the Newcastle Central constituency that Ken Booth contested in May gaining 2,302 votes - 6.8% beating UKIP and the Greens."

Ken said, “I’m optimistic about stopping this project just as we did with the 'Asia Town' one in the Elswick and Fenham wards.

"Nobody forced anybody to come to Britain and they should stop trying to transform our areas and change our way of life.

"If they do not like it here, they should leave."

People Of Fawdon Back BNP's Bring Our Boys Home Campaign

Newcastle BNP held a tabletop stall in the Fawdon ward with a lot of the residents taking time out of their day to sign the petition.

Anita Cooper, Fawdon ward's prospective local candidate for the 5th May 2011 elections said she was very pleased with the feedback.

Anita told the Patriot, "I think we'll do well here in May - my daughter and I have already been canvassing with the petition and the response on the doorstep is phenomenal.

"The majority of those who signed the petition also ticked the box to say that they wanted to stay in touch."

The team was confident that this support will translate into votes and look forward to putting a lot of effort into this very promising area.

Andrew Brons MEP Speaks On Tyneside

Over sixty people attended a meeting in South Tyneside where Andrew Brons MEP was the guest speaker.

The great turnout was compounded by the fact that the Tyne & Wear derby was being played and kicked off at 1:30, the same time as the meeting.

Ken Booth chaired the meeting and gave a run down of the North East’s recent election results.

He said, “Our region has been gaining votes in the last two major elections, with the best percentage gain in the Euros and General election for the BNP in the whole of Britain.

"Local results held up in May and were not as affected by the high voter turnout as in other regions."

Ken also reaffirmed that we should all rally behind the BNP and get involved in the council election campaigns for next May, even if one is dissatisfied with our current leadership.

Ken introduced Martin Vaughn, the fund-holder for South Tyneside.

Martin told the meeting that he had been one of the mass resignations on South Tyneside out of disgust at Nick Griffin’s decision to sack Ken Booth as Regional Organiser.

Martin went on to say that he decided to return to the position as not only is there is no point in packing it in and making waste of years of dedication, changes that the party needs to undergo cannot be implemented from the outside.

Next, Ken introduced Kevin Scott. Kevin was the Regional Organiser before Ken.

He said that Ken had built on the work he had done in the region and taken the region forward in leaps and bounds.

Kevin went on to describe Ken's sacking as, "Shoddy and Dispicable."

Kevin now runs Civil Liberty which is an organisation defending our liberties, such as freedom of speech and expression.

He then told us about the demonstration for the Gateshead Six on 16th November, who have to answer bail for burning a koran.

He asked if someone burnt a bible, would the police have responded so heavy handedly

Kevin told how a recent art exhibition at the Baltic had numerous complaints by Christians but still went ahead.

It was titled the ‘Piss Christ’, a sculpture of Jesus, you guessed it, made out of frozen urine.

He did not recommend burning the koran but said, "if you must, do it in the name of art."

After a short break, buffet and raffle, Ken introduced the main speaker, Andrew Brons.

Andrew spoke of his work in the European Parliament, telling those attending about the procedures as well as which topics he has been making speeches about.

He said that since the BNP MEPs are not attached to any formal grouping, they are heavily restricted on the amount of time they are given to speak, so all speeches have to be prepared and to the point.

The attendees heard of how Andrew had been to many committee meetings in the European Parliament and the attendance of other MEPs is so bad, there was one occasion where he was the only one there.

For many people, it was the first time they had ever met Andrew, and the general consensus was that he is a very intelligent, well mannered person and a credit to the party.

Readers of this website are encouraged to visit Andrew's Youtube channel to view some of his speeches as well as checking out his official MEP website.

After a 10 minute comfort break their was a very constructive question and answer session.

It was anounced that the collection raised £130, the proceeds from the raffle £40, VOF sales £26 and the merchandise £42.

All money raised will be spent on local election leaflets on Tyneside.
