The BNP's Adam Walker will be standing in a by-election, hoping to be elected to Spennymoor town council on 9th September.
When asked about the campaign, Adam said, "The whole ward has already been leafleted, and we are on our second sweep of canvassing.
"The reactions on the doorstep have been very positive."
At a packed local meeting in the ward on Tuesday, Richard Barnbrook made himself present to rally the troops with a very inspiring speech as well as staying in the area and helping out the campaign on the front line.
Adam has always strived to get the best for Spennymoor and there is evidence everywhere to prove that fact.
Mr. Walker runs his own karate club in the town centre, keeping kids off the streets, giving them something to do and teaching them a bit of discipline.
He also stuck up for local allotment owners who were having a dispute with the council - the council which was supposed to be working for them and Adam did not give up until results were achieved.
Amongst other things, Adam and his team repaired a path in the woods near Cow Plantation which had become dangerous for ramblers and dog walkers (video underneath).
The campaign in Spenny is a rolling campaign, this means that every day is a campaign day.
You can help out by canvassing, leafleting or even just manning a stall - all help is appreciated.
In Shildon, Mark Walker missed out on a council seat by one vote and with one more activist helping for an hour or two, that would have been won, so it is vastly important that you don't just leave the work to somebody else.
Anybody either local to County Durham or who have their own transport should ring Michael Stewart on 07747188623 if they want to help out, even if only for a few hours.
Anybody in the Newcastle area who may need a lift should ring Ken Booth on 07954434173 as he will be making the trip on certain days.
This election is winnable - but we need YOUR help.

I've been canvassing myself today and found a good response from the public, Adam stands a good chance of being elected if we can get more activists out and meeting the electorate, good day overall and I'm looking forward to going back and lending a hand. Great blog keep up the good work! :)
Adam Walker = proper old school gentleman..
