Huge Support For Newcastle BNP In Elswick

Hundreds of 'Voice Of Freedom' Newspapers were quickly snapped up by voters in the Elswick ward of Newcastle upon Tyne and information pack requests quickly started rolling in.

The newspapers, which were stuffed with local leaflets providing information and contact details were a huge hit amongst the electorate of the ward and although they were handed out free, many supporters refused to take them without making a donation.

Support was so exceptional, shop workers from around the precinct were popping out of work whilst on their breaks to receive a copy and have a chat to the activists and Ken Booth, the prospective parliamentary candidate for Newcastle Central - the constituency where the ward of Elswick is situated.

Although the majority of people said that they have voted BNP before and will be again, something which the team found very encouraging was the large amount of people who had said that they have never voted before, or at least not for the BNP, but will definitely vote BNP this coming May.

Another aspect of the day which was very refreshing was the considerable amount of youth coming over to the stall to find out more information about the party and how to get involved, whilst stating that this is the first time they are able to vote and that they will be voting BNP.

As the stall was being packed away at around 1430 hours, two members of a far left organisation turned up and held a banner saying 'Nobody Is Illegal'. This only spurred us on and compelled us to stay, and watching the extremists get shunned by the general public made it very worthwhile.

Elswick Result - 1st May 2008
