North Tyneside council have ordered Wallsend businesses to take down their flags and bunting due to 'health and safety concerns'.
The residents and shop owners thought it would be nice to decorate the town centre for the duration of the World Cup to show support for the national football team - North Tyneside's Labour council did not share their enthusiasm.
The council had said that the decorations could 'put people in danger'.

Yeah. In danger of being persecuted for being British.
What about the black flags of Islam we have been seeing recently? They present a real danger. Ban them.
No more dangerous than someone wearing burkas.
Part of their culture they tell us.
Not as dangerous as some heavy signs over restaraunts.
Take the bunting down and replace it with a "safe" sign telling the people how anti-English the council is.
Do it right and it may even give business a welcome boost.
